USB MP3s = Live
In a story that can be filed under "should've seen that coming", the "unreleased" LP material that was advertised in a promotion with Major League Baseball and Champs Sports has turned out to be live tracks. The USB drive contains live versions of four songs from Minutes To Midnight; "Given Up", "Leave Out All The Rest", "No More Sorrow", and "In Pieces". Material from other artists include Ashes Divide's "Enemies", Atreyu's "Blow", Busta Rhymes' "We Made It" featuring Linkin Park, The Bravery's "This Is Not The End", and "Beautiful" from 10 Years. Confirmed: One Step Closer in Rock Band 2
Harmonix has released the soundtrack to their hotly anticipated Rock Band 2 video game and Linkin Park will be making an appearance. The 80-song soundtrack will include the band's first ever single, "One Step Closer". This is the second time a Linkin Park song will be making an appearance in a music video game, after "No More Sorrow" was released as downloadable content for Guitar Hero III. It is, however, the first time an LP song will be featured on the initial soundtrack. Rock Band 2 will see its release for the Xbox 360 in September, with the PS2, PS3, and Nintendo Wii receiving the game sometime afterwards in 2008. For the full soundtrack, click below. Sou ...

MLB + LP = USB MP3s?
Linkin Park and their Projekt Revolution tour have teamed up with Major League Baseball and Champs Sports stores to offer concertgoers free music. Billboard reports that random concertgoers will be given a lanyard which can be exchanged at a local Champs Sports for a USB wristband containing "four unreleased Linkin Park MP3s" as well as five songs from other PR08 artists. Fans can also get the wristband by spending $50 or more at Champs. It's unknown if these "unreleased Linkin Park MP3s" are new material, or they could be live tracks, but we shall soon find out once Projekt Revolution starts July 16th. Stay tuned for more info. Reading My Lyrics
News has been pretty slow in the world of Linkin Park as of late. The band is currently on a tour through Europe and plans to start Projekt Revolution in mid-July. One of the songs the band has been playing live as of late has been "Reading My Eyes" from the band's days as Xero. The song features vocals from the band's former singer, Mark Wakefield, before he was replaced by Chester. Mike wrote this about the song: "i think we wrote the song back in '97 or '98. it was an original demo from when the band was called XERO, which means it was written (and originally performed) by me and my friend mark. this was one of the songs on the demo we would send out to record companies to try and get signed, and it was on some of the demos we passed out to friends and new fans (the blue cassette with the baby on the cover). we decided to put it in the show because a lot of the hardcore fans wanted to hear us play it--the only time we played it with chester before this tour was in tokyo, 2006. looking back at the lyrics, it's crazy; some of it's really dated, some of it's still dope, and some of it makes virtually no sense whatsoever. but i've seen some really bad "interpretations" of the lyrics on so-called "lyric websites" that are WAY OFF...so i figured i'd give you the real lyrics." The lyrics are as follows: the microphone molester / machete undresser "stupid-dope-fresh" type shit resurrector top gun / miramar / best of the best-er the leave-an-MC-peace-in-rest-er skill tester / the flex-the-gunner the make-funner / the adversary make runner make summer cold with rhymes i spit kick gift to lifted delinquent wit I be the prophet / my rhyme--top it? stop it. fly like rocket when I rock it lock it down with this perverse verse every fuckin curse a burst of hurt move crowds: physical fitness rhymes coke heads couldn't do my lines i'm decorated like christmas pines my battalion rocks MCs become silohetes of chalk Chorus: Reading my eyes will say it in many ways Losing my pride will save it in many days hit the dirt because the words I spit will do more than just rip your shirt i'll bitch slap your soul contact the track control you coming at me? you can't hack it though so ridiculous watching my crew get sick of this wickedness pitchin' this lyrical viciousness to crews and cliques made of men and mistresses this is my life the twilight in the fight night and trying to see nothing but the highlights when I write these eyes on horizons die for my song cry rhymes in krylon fire on / move men telekenetically esoterically beat-speaking with clarity feel my verity / heroism of heresy and sever every MC I see with severity Chorus why not what i came (3x) Why not give me what I came to deserve Why not give me what I came to believe (2x) Chorus

Show Cancellations
Linkin Park have been forced to cancel their shows in Sweden and Switzerland, as guitarist Brad Delson is ill and under doctor's orders to rest for a few days. Source: www.linkinpark.com

New Tour Date in Kansas
Linkin Park has added a new headlining date in Bonner Springs, Kansas on August 13th, with support acts Ashes Divide and Atreyu. Like the recently added Albuquerque date, this is not a Projekt Revolution show but a seperate headlining stop. Source: www.linkinpark.com

Projekt Revolution Busts a Rhyme
It has been confirmed that rapper Busta Rhymes has been added to this years Projekt Revolution line up, which consists of Linkin Park, Chris Cornell, The Bravery, Ashes Divide, Atreyu, 10 Years, Hawthorne Heights, Armor For Sleep and the Street Drum Corps. It is unknown if Busta Rhymes will have his own set but we do know "We Made It" will be featured live. Be sure not to miss this if you are attending Projekt Revolution this summer! *UPDATE* Busta's name has been added to the lineup on the Projekt Revolution website, so it appears that he will be playing a full set of his own, and that he'll play between Ashes Divide and The Bravery. He will also perform at the non-PR show in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 6th, according to his official website. Thanks to LPgator for the news!
